Hey there! Sorry for the late meal plan this week; I came down hard with strep throat towards the end of last week, and am just now recovered and catching up on tasks. My hope for these weekly meal plans of mine is to give you some inspiration in your own meal planning- and hopefully some insight on the unique logistics of running a nutrient dense kitchen. Over time, you’ll probably pick up on patterns- like what’s in season, how I create balanced meals, proper preparation, and maybe other things, too.
I plan dinners for the week and include a list of foods I keep on hand for our more help-yourself style breakfasts and lunches. I aim to link to any recipes I plan to follow and am working on banking up an archive of my favorite recipes here on the blog. If you see a meal that you would like some more insight on, feel free to ask me about it in the comments!
Below the meal plan, I’ve added a new section detailing step-by-step how I prepare several of the week’s meals (or components thereof) efficiently in one session called “Meal Prep Notes.” Below that is a “Food Sourcing Notes” section which includes what I buy directly from farmers, what grocery stores I go to, what seasonal foods we are loving, what’s in my garden, and what I’m foraging in north Texas. I also add a “Kitchen notes and odds and ends” bit from time to time; Today, I share about my experience with strep throat, what remedies worked, what didn’t, and what I’m doing next to make my health more resilient than ever.
