I’m going to start by admitting that I have absolutely zero interest in football… Sorry. But I do like a good excuse to make food that is both fun and nourishing, and to have a bit of fun with people I like. As such, I find myself dreaming up the dishes that I’ll serve for this year’s football festivities.
So without further ado, here are 5 Superbowl snack ideas that will delight and nourish everyone at the party!
5 Nourishing Super Bowl Snack Ideas
1. Chicken wings with nutrient dense blue cheese dip
The wings
🐓🔥Ingredients:
2 lbs chicken wings (pasture raised if possible!)
1 tsp of your fav mineral rich salt
.25 c of your fav hot sauce
4 T grass fed butter
🐓🔥Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400.
Spread the chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Give them a dusting of your fav mineral rich salt.
Bake the wings for 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the hot sauce and whisk together until emulsified. (You should also have time to make your blue cheese dip now)
Once the wings are baked, toss them in the sauce.
Serve with blue cheese dip and celery sticks.
The dip
Ingredients:
1 cup blue cheese crumbles
1/2 cup mayonnaise (I make my own to avoid seed oils!)
1/4 cup cream or buttermilk
1 T lemon juice
Salt and pepper
10 drops @tracemineralsresearch Concentrace mineral drops
2 T fresh parsley, torn into tiny pieces
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together in a small mixing bowl.
Refrigerate for a couple hours, or until you’re ready to party!
Enjoy and be nourished.
2. Veggie sticks
Slice up some celery and carrot sticks to bring some fresh flavors and colors to your wings and dip plate.
3. Fresh fruit
We all love fresh fruit, and it makes for a very convenient and healthy party food. Why not serve it at your watch party?
4. Nachos with grass fed cheese, black beans, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa
Who says nachos can’t be nourishing? Most grocery stores now carry brands of tortilla chips that are made with organic ingredients and higher quality oils. Layer them with sharp grass fed cheddar, black beans, and perhaps some browned grass fed ground beef, and you’ll have a balanced and nourishing meal. Top with sour cream, cilantro, salsa, homemade guacamole, and whatever else you love.
5. Stuffed mushrooms and jalepeño poppers
Make a simple cheese filling with cream cheese, shredded cheddar, bread crumbs, and bacon crumbles— and stuff it into mushroom caps and halved/deseeded jalapeño peppers. Bake on a sheet lined with parchment paper at 400 for about 20-25 minutes. Amazing.
